Getting to the root of issues

We work with families to help understand the cause of conflict, anxiety and discord. Looking both at things that have happened in the past as well as expectations around future behaviours and attitudes, we uncover what is happening in family dynamics and give families tools to heal wounds and restore relationships.

Empathetic communication

Improving our understanding of how family members experience different behaviours and actions helps clients to identify improved ways to communicate their feelings and needs. However, getting to a point that can create a receptive environment often requires the stewardship of a skilled therapist to overcome, sometimes years of hurt feelings and trauma.

Addressing issues and building up support

Through the gentle guidance of one of our team, families find that they can get to the core of the problems they are facing and start to re-build the support they need. Where conflict continues, regular sessions, help families to address problems in a timely manner, and if everyone is motivated to change, be held accountable for the improvements they are seeking to make.

You are not alone

Family conflicts can be incredibly challenging to navigate and isolating for those caught in the maelstrom. Portobello Behavioural Health's team of therapists, coaches and case managers can implement solutions that bring people out from their loneliness and restore damaged relationships.
