You are warmly invited to join us for an intimate evening in celebration of International Women’s Day 2026.

This women-only gathering is a chance to come together with others working in behavioural health, to reconnect with familiar faces, meet new ones, and enjoy a relaxed evening in great company. We’ll be sharing delicious canapés, easy conversation, and taking time to celebrate the strength, resilience, and brilliance of women in our field.

We’re especially delighted to welcome Dr Mary Wellesley, who will be giving a talk on Margery Kempe and mental health in the fifteenth century.

Dr Wellesley is a medieval literature scholar with a particular interest in women’s voices, interiority, and emotional life in the pre-modern world. In this talk, she explores Kempe’s remarkable first-person account of intense psychological and emotional experience, written centuries before the emergence of psychiatric language, and invites us to reflect on how women’s inner lives have long been understood and expressed.

We’d love for you to join us for what promises to be a thoughtful, welcoming, and very special evening. We can’t wait to see you.
