We’re pleased to welcome Dr Samuel Chawner as our guest presenter for this month’s Neurodivergence Forum. An award-winning researcher based in the Division of Psychological Medicine and Clinical Neurosciences at Cardiff University, Dr Chawner’s work focuses on understanding the epidemiology and underlying causes of Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID).

In this session, Dr Chawner will provide an introduction to ARFID, exploring its key clinical features and how it differs from other eating disorders. Drawing on the latest research evidence, he will offer an overview of the current understanding of ARFID and discuss the growing recognition of its overlap with neurodivergent conditions.

Attendees can expect an accessible and research-informed exploration of the implications of ARFID for both clinical practice and future research. The session will provide valuable insights for professionals, carers, and anyone interested in deepening their understanding of this emerging and important area within neurodivergence and mental health.
